Meet the Team: Jenson Mak

newsNovember 13, 2025

Introducing fisiocrem sponsored athlete Jenson Mak. Jenson Mak doesn’t train for comfort, he trains for growth. His approach is all about pushing boundaries and building resilience, one session at a time. Whether it's running in thongs to reconnect with form and foot strength, or turning to journaling and reflection after tough efforts, every detail in his routine is intentional. He rebuilt himself through movement and now leads by example. He's proving to his community that their best chapter might still be ahead. After completing his first 100-miler at Ultra-Trail Australia (UTA) in May, Jenson is gearing up for a big second half of 2025, including the Sydney Ultra 80km and the Bondi to Manly Ultra 80km. His UTA prep included back-to-back marathons with a weighted vest, all while recovering from bronchitis, proof of his grit and mental endurance. His consistency comes from a clear belief, “You won’t get far in this sport if you only run on the days you feel good.” Jenson faced significant physical challenges during a period when he was overweight and unaware of underlying mental health struggles. Everything began to shift when he discovered running as the key to turning his life around. Jenson grounds himself with small, powerful rituals such as hot showers, quiet reflection, and daily journal entries shared with his community. “Running isn’t just physical therapy, it’s emotional and spiritual, too”, he says. This season, he’s dedicating his km's to someone close to his heart, “I run to commemorate my late grandmother, who taught me what grit truly means, not just in training, but in life. Her strength lives in every step I take.” JENSON'S TOP RECOVERY TIPS "I prioritise rest and fuel with real whole foods, like fresh fruits and vegetables, while favouring mobility over intensity to avoid further fatigue."
